LEADNOW January 5-12
2008 began with a LEADNOW team under the leadership of director Mike McAdams. The group raised funds to build a missions church in Pantelho, Chiapas, Mexico. What an excellent way to begin the new year!

On the first work day, we poured the cement floor and then returned to Chenalho to make benches. The following day we erected the roof and painted the interior and exterior of the building. That afternoon with the Pantelho church completely finished, we had a dedication service of the new building. It was a moving experience for everyone there. The people of Pantelho were so appreciative and deeply expressed their gratitude to all of us and to the Lord. The team also painted 2 other churches - the large church in the city of San Fernando and a church in the mountain village of Ats’amillo. Seems like several team members would like to move to Ats’amillo if they could.
The evenings were filled with a time of singing, giving personal testimonies and sharing the life changing experiences that come through such a week of missions work.
The team consisted of students from Texas A&M - Katrina, Casey, Kelly and Dustin, (a recent graduate) and Amanda and Audrey of UT Austin. Also with the group were Dennis Lambert of Plano, TX, Allan Schoeneberg of Katy and Alex Morrison, children’s pastor of Brenham First Baptist. The remainder of the team members were from St. John’s of Burton, TX - Chris, Caleb, Dalton, Bryan, Lisa, Sue, Carol, Ronnie and Carl. A special thanks to Pastor Glen Schoeneberg for accompanying this team and to all those from St. John who worked so hard and gave so generously to send out the group from Burton.
We thank all the team for a great week here in Chiapas. To Mike McAdams and Katrina Barnett, thanks for all you do all year to organize the teams that are sent out through LEADNOW. You truly understand the positive and eternal results that these mission trips can have in an individual’s life. We appreciate how you have so effectively shared that vision with others.
