MAY-JUNE NEWSLETTER 2008

Psalms 118:23-24 "This was the LORD's doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it."

Truly this was the LORD's doing! It was a marvelous time of celebrating His goodness. The General Convention in Chenalho was attended by more than 5000 believers.

205 new believers were baptized in the local river in Chenalho. This occurs after 2 months of teaching and discipleship by their pastor.

20 or more new leaders received prayer and were commissioned to do the work of the ministry.

The multitude was fed! We could not have done it without you. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent special donations to cover the 6 bulls and the other food cost for the convention.

God has put together a wonderful team of leaders! We so appreciate these men and women of God. What a joy to work together fulfilling God's purposes in the highlands of Chiapas!

The celebration continued! On April 19th was the dedication of the church in San Fernando, Chiapas. For the past year and a half we have made the needs of this project known to you, and you have so faithfully responded. So many are responsible for making this building a reality. San Fernando has a large congregation that will no longer have to stand outside the doors and windows while attending service. To God be the glory for this beautiful new facility!

More to celebrate! The remote area of Onijah has its first Christian church thanks to Crossroads Church of Lafayette, LA. It involved a camp out, cooking on an open fire and a lot of very hard work, but helping to birth the work in a new area was worth it all. Special thanks also to Dr. Jim Nichols, Dr. John Mahoney and several others on the teams for providing dental and medical care to various villages last April. Hundreds of people received help that would have otherwise continued to suffer.
